We need to talk - Noémi Boutin & Matthew Sharp
A Franco-British musical joust
The two cellists Noémi Boutin and Matthew Sharp, and the two composers Laura Bowler and Frédéric Pattar, are four people representing two nations: France and the United Kingdom. Without wanting to reduce individual identities to national belonging, the concert We need to talk imagines these two instrumentalists as two entities seeking to get closer to one another, to confront and challenge each other, and to unite, through a form of imaginary musical duelling or jousting, which is both poetic and theatrical.
