Flute, harp and drum kit: the female trio Nout plays with a rare mixture of instruments! In the wake of the experiments of John Zorn on the fringes of jazz and noise music, Nout imagines its pieces as action-packed stories. Born of an impromptu session in 2020, Nout is a reflection of its members’ backgrounds, with influences ranging from jazz to noise, and electronica to classical music, all bound together by a strong group spirit.

Masna’ is like a search through the dustiest corners of the memory, where the secrets hidden in drawers become the centre of an intimate musical and personal exploration. Over the course of the open compositions, structured improvisations are played by the six musicians as they explore timbres and forms, producing a blend of avant-garde jazz, contemporary music and extra-European traditions, as well as colourful and unexpected textures, and creating an indivisible, organic and novel collective sound.
