Ko Ishikawa (shō) and Bertrand Gauguet (alto saxophone) met for the first time in 2011, in Tokyo. Reunited by the project Hortense, by Catherine Contour, they bring us music that interweaves elements of ancestral Japanese tradition with a more spectral European approach. The shō and the saxophone are combined, using breath and harmonic masses, to produce slow, endlessly shifting forms, like clouds...
